Rules & Regulations
- The videos must have been publicly released / live for viewing between 1 February 2025 - 1 May 2026.
- No language barrier; however, the content and VFX studio must be based in Asia.
- Silent films/content are permissible.
- The entry form and all submitted data must be in English only.
- The applicant must submit original work created and executed by them, or on behalf of a client for whom the work was produced.
- The same work may be submitted under multiple categories as deemed appropriate. There is no limit on the number of entries submitted by a single applicant. However, the same entry cannot be submitted by multiple parties. An entry may be submitted by either the agency or the client.
- All required fields in the entry form must be completed and supported by relevant data.
- Only entries that are complete and meet all required criteria will be accepted.
- Full payment must be made on or before the last date of submission. Entries submitted after the deadline will not qualify for judging.
- AnimationXpress India Pvt. Ltd. considers that the applicant has read all the rules and regulations carefully and thereby accepts it.
- AnimationXpress India Pvt. Ltd. will not be held responsible/ liable in case of any plagiarism, falsification or intellectual property infringement in any manner whatsoever. If the applicant is found ill eligible/ contravenes the criteria mentioned herein then their entry will be disqualified.
- The applicant must specify the name of the person authorized to approve submission of entries on behalf of the organization/company.
- The registration will be complete post verification by AnimationXpress India Pvt. Ltd. The login ID and password will be generated and notified to both applicant and authorizing authority via e-mail confirmation.
- Once the Login ID and Password is activated, the applicant can login and select the desired categories and proceed to make payment. The entire submission and payment process is online.
- Register yourself and Animation Xpress team will activate the account.
- You will receive email notification on account activation.
- Next Login and Fill the entry form. One can submit multiple entries for one category/ies.
- Once the entire entry form is filled proceed for the payment, you can generate the invoice and there's a payment gateway in the application where you can make the payment or for Direct Transfer below are the Bank details.
- Once the payment is done, upload the screenshot of the same and now, Click on 'Submit Entry'.
- Once you submit the entry, NO further edits/ changes can be made. All the changes should be done prior to the submission of the entry.

- The videos should have been running / live for public viewing between the period of 1st Feb 2025 - 1st June 2026.
- Only live-action-based entries are permissible across all VFX categories. It is mandatory for all entries to carry 'Before & After' shots that will clearly demonstrate the effects achieved. Exceptions for 'VFX in Games' and 'VFX in Animation' from the Others category.
- The submission should comprise only a series of VFX shots extracted from the relevant entry; the full video / content alone will not be accepted.
- VFX produced solely for a main title sequence, logo, or motion graphics are not eligible.
- If the project is in any language other than English, English subtitles are mandatory.

Commercials / Ad Category - Recognises excellence in VFX created for advertising and short-form promotional content. This category celebrates impactful brand storytelling enhanced by innovative visual craft and evolving production technologies.
Digital (OTT - Long-form & Short-form) Category - Honours outstanding VFX in content originally created for digital and streaming platforms. It celebrates immersive storytelling powered by scalable, future-ready workflows and creative innovation.
Feature Films Category - Recognises exceptional VFX achievement in theatrical and long-format cinematic storytelling. This category celebrates large-scale visual artistry that enhances narrative depth and immersive experiences.
TV Serials Category - Honours excellence in VFX across episodic television content. It recognises consistent visual quality delivered through efficient and innovative production pipelines.
Student Category - Celebrates emerging VFX talent showcasing creativity, technical skill, and forward-thinking approaches. This category highlights the next generation shaping the future of visual storytelling.
Tech Category - Recognises groundbreaking advancements in VFX tools, AI integration, and production technologies. It celebrates innovation that enhances both creative expression and technical execution.
Special Category - Honours outstanding overall contributions, leadership, and cross-platform excellence within the VFX ecosystem. This category celebrates impact that shapes the industry at large.
- RETENTION OF ENTRIES: By submitting the entries, the entrants are authorizing Animation Xpress India Pvt. Ltd. and VAM Awards to use the content of the entries in any format whether broadcast TV (satellite, terrestrial or DTH or pay TV or PTA), cable TV, film, radio, in print, mobile, podcast, social media, the Internet, DVD, VCD or HD formats for the purpose of propagating and promoting VAM Awards for perpetuity for the general or specific public.

Jayanti Mahapatra is a senior creative-technology and people leader with over 20 years of experience in the global VFX and animation industry. Beginning her career at DreamWorks Animation as an FX artist in California, where her contributions to features like "Madagascar 2" and "Puss in Boots" laid the foundation for a remarkable career.
She has grown into leadership roles shaping how studios build capability, retain talent, and adapt to industry-wide change.
Her experience with globally renowned studios, including DreamWorks Animation, Industrial Light & Magic (ILM), Animal Logic, DNEG, Folks, and Pitch Black Group, reflects a rare combination of production expertise, technical depth, and cross-functional leadership. Mahapatra specialises in building scalable learning ecosystems and studio academies that strengthen talent pipelines, accelerate artist performance, and enable sustained creative excellence. She is deeply committed to mentoring emerging talent and fostering meaningful collaboration between academia and industry.
Priyanka Balasubramanian
Priyanka (fondly known as Pri) is the founder and managing director at Hoop, an independent, boutique visual effects studio headquartered in London with a growing production facility in the Indian cities Chennai and Mumbai. Hoop provides visual effects services for international and domestic high-end TV and feature film and OTT markets. Under Priyanka's leadership style which is one of pragmatic optimism, Hoop VFX has grown into a brand that is known to be ambitious, customer centric while punching above its weight and delivering high quality visuals.
With over 17 years in the industry now, Priyanka's first foray into the industry was back in 2007 as a data wrangler for VTR, a post-production studio based in London. She then went on to work for Mumbai-based studios growing as a VFX producer over three years overseeing entire production teams, project schedules as well as designing pipeline and tools for multiple projects. She then moved to London in 2010 to continue her stint at the Soho visual effects scene and has produced end to end visual effects on various tentpole films and high-end TV drama such as "Harry Potter", "Kingsman', 'Tron', "47 Ronin", "The Monuments Men", 'Total Recall', 'The Chronicles of Narnia', 'The Great Gatsby', 'Fate of the Furious', 'Guardians of the Galaxy', "Alien Covenant" and "Avengers" to name a few. As a member of the VES, Women in Film and TV and also the Production Guild in the UK, she contributes to the VFX community in more ways than one. She strives hard to bring gender balance to the workplace and retain female talent within the industry through Hoop and other volunteering activities. While not at work, she can be seen scooting with her children, singing classical music and cooking exotic dishes.
Asmita Bharati
Asmita Bharati is a seasoned production leader with a distinguished career managing high-caliber visual effects for both major Indian features and international streaming series. Her expertise is defined by a versatile 360-degree perspective, having served as head of production within top-tier studios and as a production-side producer overseeing complex deliveries for major global platforms.
Her extensive portfolio includes landmark projects such as Paramount+ (1923), Apple TV+ (Shining Girls), and Kamal Haasan's (Vishwaroopam), among many others.
As a juror, she remains dedicated to recognising technical innovation and creative excellence that meet world-class standards.
Nanda Kumar Nair
Nanda Kumar Nair is a VFX supervisor at yFX Studios. He started his career as a junior compositor with Krrish in 2006. In 2017, he joined yFX as an associate shoot and compositing supervisor on Mubarakaan and has since worked with the stars in Bollywood, consistently introducing new techniques to set. His most recent project was Tiger 3.
Sudeep Chatterjee
Sudeep Chatterjee is an Indian cinematographer based in Mumbai, largely known for his diverse range of films like ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi,’ ‘Padmaavat,’ ‘Bajirao Mastani,’ ‘Guzaarish,’ ‘Chak De India,’ ‘Dhoom 3’ and the Netflix series ‘Heeramandi.’
He was trained at the prestigious Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune and is a National Award winning cinematographer.
Timmy Willmott
Timmy is an experienced and versatile generalist, he currently serves as Lux Aeterna’s CG supervisor. With over 18 years of experience in television and film, he has played pivotal roles as both artist and lead on many critically acclaimed and award-winning documentaries. Known for his passion for cinematography, he is a creative problem-solver with a sharp eye for detail.
Govardhan Vigraham
Govardhan has over 25 years of experience in the art of Visual Effects as a VFX Director. He has in-depth knowledge on film-making, covering scripts, pre-production design, shoot and post-production execution, working closely with VFX artists, editors, and colourists.
He started his career in 1992 in an ad-film production house called Z-Axis as a graphics artist, and since then, he has worked with Crest Communications, Prime Focus, Tata Elxsi VCL, and EFX Prasad Labs. He has also produced and directed TV commercials and music videos as an independent filmmaker.
He bagged the Best VFX award at Filmfare for Kaminey and a National award for Mumbai Meri Jaan. Recently, he worked on OTT series Bandish Bandits, Ek Thi Begum, SkyFire and Chopsticks and is currently working independently for JA Entertainment as VFX creative head for the feature film Force 3.
Shailesh Pahuja
Shailesh Pahuja is a seasoned VFX and game development professional with nearly two decades of experience spanning production, education, and community leadership within the AVGC-XR sector. Currently serving as education and upskilling for AVGC-XR Madhya Pradesh vertical director, he is a driving force for digital arts education and talent development in the region. He leads the Bhopal local chapter as the Unreal Engine Community meetup leader and serves as the VFX & game development faculty at the Career Design School. In this capacity, he is responsible for course development, designing production pipelines, and teaching cutting-edge virtual production techniques.
With a strong foundation in high-end VFX production, Pahuja has worked at Maya Entertainment in Mumbai as a compositor, where he developed custom tools to accelerate workflows and contributed to notable projects including 'Motu Patlu', 'Manjhi - The Mountain Man', and the Star Plus series 'Mahabharat'. His core studio experience is built upon an early compositing internship at the globally recognised Rhythm and Hues Studios.
He is deeply committed to nationwide skill development within the AVGC sector. He is an active assessor for the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), evaluating and certifying students in compositor and roto artist courses. His background includes extensive educational leadership, having previously handled the VFX education wings for multiple branches of Frameboxx and serving as a faculty member at MAAC.
Equipped with an Unreal Engine Professional certificate and a Unity Game Development Specialisation, his technical proficiency covers the complete AVGC-XR pipeline, including 3D and VFX compositing, FX, virtual reality, game development, 3D camera tracking, and motion capture.
Somesh Ghosh
Somesh Ghosh is an accomplished VFX Supervisor at ReDefine (DNEG), bringing over two decades of extensive experience in the visual effects and entertainment industry. With a strong technical foundation and a deep understanding of digital compositing workflows, he has delivered high-end visual effects for film and television productions.
His core expertise lies in advanced compositing, with a particular emphasis on node-based workflows using Foundry's Nuke. He possesses a comprehensive understanding of multi-pass compositing, color pipelines, keying, rotoscoping, matte extraction, and integration of CG elements with live-action plates. In addition to compositing, Somesh has demonstrated proficiency in animation principles and visual effects supervision, enabling him to bridge the gap between creative vision and technical execution.
His ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional departments-including CG, lighting, FX, and editorial-has been instrumental in achieving seamless visual storytelling.
Somesh's blend of artistic sensibility and technical expertise makes him a valuable asset in delivering visually compelling and technically robust VFX solutions at an international production standard.

Jay Mehta
With nearly 20 years of VFX experience, Jay Mehta has worked as a Supervisor across India, Malaysia, and China, contributing to Academy award-winning films such as Life of Pi and The Golden Compass. His credits span Hollywood, Bollywood, and Chinese cinema, including on-set supervision for China's Fengshen Trilogy and as a client-side supervisor for numerous Netflix India Originals. An active member of the Visual Effects Society, Jay is also a VES and HPA nominee for Agent Carter-Season One.
Rutul Patel
Rutul Patel holds an MFA in art direction from Academy of Arts, San Francisco. She has worked at advertising agencies McCann Erickson and Publicis before starting her VFX career at Prime Focus Los Angeles, as a matte painter on Avatar and Tree of Life. She has produced TV commercials and directed CGI for clients including Unilever and Birla.
Rutul currently manages award-winning Paris-based VFX studio Digital District in India as CEO, and leads the creative team as VFX producer and supervisor. She's also chair of VES India and a recipient of the Unreal Fellowship as part of the first Women Creators Program 2021 as well as a creative mentor for the second edition of WCP fellowship.
Jan Cafourek
Jan Cafourek is Goodbye Kansas executive producer, a leading company specialising in visual effects, digital animation, and motion capture for film, television, games, trailers, and commercials. He has played a key role in projects like the cinematic trailer for Assassin's Creed Shadows, collaborating with Ubisoft and Funworks.
Cafourek graduated from ArtCenter College of Design, where he honed his creative and production expertise. His background in design and storytelling informs his work in high-end visual production, making him a valuable force in the entertainment industry.
Phil Barrenger
Phil Barrenger is VP creative operations at Rising Sun Pictures (RSP), one of Australia's leading visual effects studios, headquartered in Adelaide. With a career spanning over two decades in VFX, Phil held a series of progressive roles at Weta FX - from Lighting TD and CG Supervisor through to Environments Supervisor, head of Lighting, and senior head of Shots - before returning to RSP, where he began his career. His work spans major Hollywood productions including Avatar: The Way of Water, Harry Potter, and Charlotte's Web.
Phil is passionate about the intersection of creativity, technology, and pipeline innovation, and has spoken at industry events including SIGGRAPH on the transformative role of AI in media and entertainment.
Lars Andersen
Lars Andersen joined One of Us in 2016 and established himself as a creative VFX supervisor. He built close working relationships with directors Justin Kurzel on Assassins’ Creed, Daniel Espinosa on Life and Morbius, Jonathan Glazer on The Fall and on-set with Steve McQueen on Widows and several art projects.
Lars has a clear understanding of filmmakers’ creative needs and stylistic vision, backed up by strong technical foundations - he also collaborates closely with the pipeline team to develop new tools and workflows and contributes significantly to the evolving standards used in production. He most recently delivered The Electric State for Netflix, starring Millie Bobby Brown.
Jigesh Gajjar
With over 24 years in the VFX industry, his tenure at Double Negative Mumbai has sharpened his expertise in animation and live action VFX, positioning him as a leader in visual effects. At the core of his mission lies a dedication to pushing the boundaries of what's possible in VFX, championing projects that marry technical prowess with artistic vision. He is also the founder of Anamcara & Paintbooth Studio.
His past experience as Head of VFX at MPC Bangalore instilled in him a robust competency in overseeing complex productions, ensuring that their team's work aligns with the company's commitment to innovation and excellence. At Double Negative, he proudly led a team that contributed to the industry's most compelling visual narratives, all while fostering a culture of creativity and collaboration.
Vidit Kundra
Vidit Kundra is the co-head of CG at Assemblage Entertainment. Starting out as a CG supervisor, he consistently displayed his talent, hard work, and unwavering dedication to excellence. His distinctive blend of technical know-how and artistic vision has played a key role in the success of several projects in our portfolio.
With almost two decades of industry experience, Vidit's extensive knowledge of CG and VFX is exemplary, and his interest in exploring new software is commendable, too. But it's not just his experience that sets him apart; his leadership skills and ability to inspire others are praiseworthy. He has fostered a culture built on collaboration, innovation, and mutual respect while mentoring the up-and-coming talent within our company.
Karim Sahai
Karim Sahai is a visual effects supervisor and co-founder of VFX Mojo, with more than 30 years of experience in the film industry. He has created and supervised visual effects for more than 60 films, with a career spanning senior creative and supervisory roles at leading studios including Weta FX, Industrial Light & Magic (ILM), and Dneg.
His credits include five Academy Award-winning films: Dune: Part Two, Avatar, The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, and King Kong.
Karim Sahai previously served as director of visual effects at Den Norske Filmskolen (Norway), where he led education and mentorship initiatives for emerging artists. He serves as an advisor to academic institutions and the wider creative sector. He also participates in government initiatives across the European Union, Asia, and the Middle East focused on education, talent development, and the role of creative industries in economic growth.
Arpita Venugopal
Arpita Venugopal has 15 years of experience in the VFX industry, beginning her career at MPC in 2010, followed by roles at Sony Pictures Imageworks, DNEG, and Weta FX over the next 9 years. In 2019, Arpita joined One of Us as Lead FX TD on titles such as Pinocchio, as well as Netflix's The Sandman and A Discovery of Witches. Arpita stepped up into the role of Head of FX at the start of 2022, where she is responsible for building and leading a talented team of FX artists. Recent titles worked on by the studio's FX team include Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man, Troll 2, The Witcher Season 4 and Mission - Impossible: The Final Reckoning. Arpita's interests and expertise lie in building workflows in Houdini, FX supervision and bringing out the best in her team.
Prashant Nair
Prashant Nair is a creative leader with 25 years in CG and VFX, blending artistic vision with technical mastery across VFX, Episodics, AAA games, mobile games, and high-end commercials. After joining Framestore in 2019, he helped launch and shape the Mumbai studio, following impactful stints in London.
He has led cross-site productions for titles like The Fantastic Four: First Steps, Deadpool & Wolverine, The Gorge, Thunderbolts, The Little Mermaid, His Dark Materials, Prehistoric Planet: Ice Age, Mickey 17, Thor: Love and Thunder and Wonka
Further credits include: The King's Man, The Suicide Squad, Tom and Jerry, Wonder Woman 1984, Fantastic Beasts 3, Matrix 4 and Slumberland.
Prashant's portfolio includes work on Oscar and BAFTA-winning titles like The Jungle Book and Life of Pi, and BAFTA recognition for his VFX work on His Dark Materials and VES Awards for 'Spots v Stripes' and 'Fast and Furious: Supercharged' Prashant is a speaker, jury member and workshop leader for events like Siggraph, Autodesk, VFXSummit, AnimationXpress, GAFX, MAAC, and Aptech. He's passionate about nurturing future talent while pushing the craft of storytelling through innovation and collaboration.
Kunjal Dedhia
Kunjal Dedhia is a skilled visual artist specializing in VFX-CG lighting, supervision, cinema, and design. With over 13 years of experience, she has successfully delivered high-quality visuals on projects ranging from small-scale to major feature films. Her career includes key roles at studios like Outpost, MPC, DNEG and Rhythm and Hues, where she honed her skills as an artist. At Outpost, she led a team in creating shows like Monarch and Lord of the Rings - Rings of Power among others. This experience solidified her ability to guide projects from concept through to completion, ensuring both artistic vision and technical excellence. During her time at MPC, DNEG and Rhythm and Hues, she focused on lighting shows like Call of the Wild, Godzilla, Fantastic Beasts, Star Trek, Percy Jackson, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to achieve compelling narratives and innovative designs. Her visionary approach led her to study Cinematography, assist DOPs on set, and work as a VFX shoot supervisor, collaborating with top VFX artists globally.
